School Programs Spring 2026
Over the past few years, the SCPA provided pickleball instruction to Chatelech Secondary School students and will be hosting our next program May 25 - 29.

More recently, the SCPA was successful in its application with Pickleball BC for the Phase 2 - Activating Youth Pickleball BC program (AYPBC). This program is aimed at Grades 6 and 7 students over two sessions at five SD46 schools including, Langdale, Cedar Grove, Gibsons, Roberts Creek and Davis Bay elementary schools. The SCPA will also offer once monthly follow-up sessions for each school.

The AYPBC was made possible on the Sunshine Coast through funding, club members and many volunteers who stepped up to support the program. Special thanks to the SCPA Player Development Committee, led by Cheryl Linsley, Barry Krangle, Philippa Pulitz, Rick Semel and the many volunteers. The program is focused on students developing skills, confidence, and a love for the fast-growing sport. The hands-on approach has been a key ingredient in the program’s early success. “We’ve seen incredible energy from the students,” said Krangle. “They’re picking up the game quickly and, more importantly, they’re having fun while staying active.”
